OUR HISTORY
The building dates from 1732. It began as a flint stone two storey house and was later extended and rendered to give the Georgian look seen today.
In 1900 Mary Neal, a socialist suffragist and folk dance revivalist, established the Green Lady Hostel here as a holiday home for the Esperance Girls. The hostel has a recognised place in suffragette history. During the First World War, the building was also used in connection with training and became known as Roland House.
After later use as a children’s home, the building became a care home and joined Lifetime Care UK Ltd in 2004. It is now a long-standing specialist home serving Littlehampton and the wider West Sussex coast.
